A.S. in Information Systems 

With an associate of science degree in information systems, you’ll gain basic business knowledge, as well as an understanding of how technology and computers function in organizations. You’ll focus on fundamental computing courses in programming utilizing two languages and basic foundation courses in information systems. You’ll also be able to apply all credits toward the B.S. in information systems.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this degree, students will be able to demonstrate the following learning outcomes:

  • Analyze a complex computing problem and apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions
  • Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline
  • Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts
  • Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles
  • Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline
  • Support the delivery, use, and management of information systems within an information systems environment
